RIVERSTONE IS HELPING FUTURE GENERATIONS!
RIVERSTONE IS HELPING FUTURE GENERATIONS!

For the next couple of months, Riverstone will be participating in a Carleton University study, Origins of Youth: Biopsychological Effects of Social Participation on Aging.

The team of seven students come from various scientific fields including neuroscience, psychology, biology, and health sciences. They will be on site at our 4 properties to answer questions, collect surveys, and saliva samples.

Residents at our properties who choose to participate will be asked questions based on their emotional well being, social relationships, health, and recreational participation. The information collected will be analyzed to help identify the physical and mental benefits of being socially active in later-life. Variations in the genes coding for different hormones (ex. oxytocin) will be assessed to determine whether they moderate the relationship between recreational participation and psychosocial outcomes. Additionally, the impact of social activities on telomere length will be measured.

Students will be circulating between the properties in an attempt to gather 250 samples.

Riverstone is proud to be a part of this cutting edge research and learning new ways to enrich the lives of all of our residents.

Please join us in welcoming Carleton University and we wish you all the best in your study.
